Fresh, authentic, and 100% local: this is Umbrian Cuisine. At Osteria Panicaglia, we combine this traditional cuisine with subtle flavours and refinement. Our kitchen garden is located next to the Osteria. Here we grow our vegetables and aromatic spices. All of our other ingredients are locally sourced, our meat is free range, and we serve local specialities. The menu follows the colours of the seasons so you always enjoy fresh and sustainable dishes.
Osteria Panicaglia is located within the walls of Castello Panicaglia. This 750-year-old castle was renovated in 2019, conserving all of its original features. Here you can enjoy the Osteria in the comfort of the castle’s refined interiors.
Outside Osteria Panicaglia we have our covered terrace. Here you can look out over the landscape surrounding Borgo Panicaglia, and the kitchen garden where your vegetables were harvested that morning. Book a romantic table for two, or take one of the larger tables for your family.
You are welcome for lunch or dinner à la carte. Ask for the menu of the day and discover what dishes will be served during your visit. We might have just harvested our lentils, or perhaps bought some of the best white truffles. Earlier that day, we may have baked a suckling pig in the wood oven. Every menu is a surprise: all the more reason to come back more often.
After a busy life at top-level restaurants around the world, Chef Federico Polito turned over a new leaf and swapped the fast-paced Michelin-starred kitchen for our kitchen at Osteria Panicaglia.
